As discussed in earlier posts the saying “You get what you pay for” applies quite often when it comes to home security. If you want the best protection for your family and possessions you have to spend money. But if you have to cut corners, as is the case in today’s economy, you may be able to do it with a cheap security camera.
Using the word cheap before a description of anything raises flags and gives illusions of foreign made items which fall apart in your hand after one use. In this case cheaper cameras probably are just as high quality as more expensive but the features available with the less expensive might be fewer. On the cheaper brand you may have a smaller coverage area or the ability to sweep, tilt, and run at night might not be available. A cheaper camera may not be as durable as the more expensive and may not include such things as hardware or a case which can be bought separately.
Although you are giving up features with cheap security cameras these may not be features you really need. Everyone’s priorities are different and the most important thing is not how much your camera costs but that you even have a camera. Another saying that could apply would be “Something is better than nothing” when it comes to your camera and home security.
